Tiffany Silverman is one of less than 30 Master Saddler’s Association (MSA) Saddle Fitters in the US. The MSA Saddle Fitting course is an extensive program taught by equine veterinarians, Master Saddlers, professional saddle makers and British Horse Society Masters. Evaluating the horse’s movement (both static and dynamic), balance, anatomy and biomechanics is key to understanding saddle fit. Tiffany will come to your farm, and use the MSA “10 Points of Saddle Fitting” to assess the fit of your saddle. Provided that the tree is an appropriate size for the horse and there is adequate room in the panels, it’s possible to do an on-site flocking adjustment. Sometimes, a complete re-flock is needed. And in some cases, the saddle needs to be replaced.

PRICE LIST:

Travel fee $30/hr (outside San Diego Co.)

On-Site flocking adjustment $40-75

Complete reflock* $225

*If a reflock is needed, Tiffany will take the saddle with her and return it within 10 days. The saddle will be taken apart, all the wool removed from the panels, and replaced with new wool based on the measurements taken at the first fitting evaluation.

The horse’s circle in influence includes a veterinarian, farrier, trainer and rider, and often a Chiropractor, dentist, masseuse, accupuncturist, etc. Saddle fit is critical to your horse’s physical well being. Just as the hooves and teeth continually grow and change, the shape of your horse’s back changes throughout the year based on workload, diet, and age. Bi-annual appointments with a qualified MSA Saddle Fitter will assure that your saddle panels are conforming to the horse’s back, thereby allowing him to move freely forward, willingly and comfortably.
